Winter Program Registration is Now Open!
NTR's Rec & Beginner Hockey program is designed for children 9 to 14. This program is for players who want to establish basic skills for hockey. Players will be taught the fundamentals of skating, shooting, passing and stick handling. This program is for those that have started skating later and want to experience hockey.
Requirements
-
- Must have skating experience. Should be pushing and gliding and not "walking" on the ice.
- Must be able to “snowplow” stop.
- Must have control of their stick when skating.
- Full hockey equipment (click link for guide).
- Each class is approximately 1 hour long, with a guaranteed smaller class size and adequate student to instructor ratio.
- All skaters are required to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet with a full facial mask. As well they must be wearing full hockey equipment. Please remember the neck guard, jersey and socks. They will need a hockey stick as well.
- A NTR staff has the right to move your child to another class if they feel the program is more appropriate for them.
Each class will have a maximum of 16 skaters and approximately a 5/1 student to instructor ratio to ensure that each child is getting more reps and personalized feedback.
