Our Learn to Skate for Hockey program is for participants aged 4-7 years old that have some skating experience or have completed our Learn to Skate program previously. This class will introduce skating with hockey equipment on, learning in a more structured practice environment and some basic drills with pucks. The fundamentals that will be improved upon during each session are:
- Forward and Backward Strides
- Stopping & Turning
- Pivoting
- Balance & Skating with a Hockey Stick
Classes are approximately 1 hour long and NTR has the right to move your child to another class if the instructors feel a different program is more appropriate for them. Full equipment will be needed for this program including a CSA approved hockey helmet with a full facial mask/cage. Please remember your socks, jersey and neck guard.
