Learn to Play Hockey #1
For children ages 5 and up. This program is an introductory class that will focus on fundamental hockey skills including proper stride, stopping and basic edgework. Players will be introduced to basic puck control, passing and shooting in this class; followed by a cross ice scrimmage to end.
Learn to Play Hockey #2
For children ages 6 and up with a minimum of 1 year hockey experience. More advanced skills such as proper backwards skating, pivots and crossovers will be introduced. Players will develop proper shooting and passing techniques and end each class with a cross ice scrimmage.
- Each class is approximately 1 hour long, with a guaranteed smaller class size and adequate student to instructor ratio.
- All skaters are required to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet with a full facial mask. As well they must be wearing full hockey equipment. Please remember the neck guard, jersey and socks. They will need a hockey stick as well.
- A NTR staff has the right to move your child to another class if they feel the program is more appropriate for them.
Each class will have a maximum of 10 skaters and approximately a 5/1 student to instructor ratio to ensure that each child is getting more reps and personalized feedback. There will be no spectators permitted in the facility at this time. One parent/guardian may enter the facility to assist with tying skates but then must immediately exit the facility immediately after.
Please note: the cost of all classes are prorated to reflect the number of weeks remaining in the program. The prorated amount will appear when you reach the payment stage of the registration.
