Learn to Skate for Hockey – Ages 4+

NTR's Learn to Skate for Hockey program is designed for children 4 and up with some skating experience. Participants must be able to skate a full lap of the rink using both skates with ability to push & glide, skate length of rink backwards and be able to stop.  This program is an introductory class for children who want to continue to develop the fundamentals of skating while being introduced to proper use of the stick as well as hockey terminology. This class will teach the fundamentals of skating / hockey with equipment and a stick.

  • Each class is approximately 1 hour long, with a guaranteed smaller class size and adequate student to instructor ratio.
  • All skaters are required to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet with a full facial mask. Full hockey equipment with a stick is also required. Please remember the neck guard, jersey and socks.
  • NTR staff has the right to move your child to another class if they feel the program is more appropriate for them. This will ensure the proper development of your child’s skills, increase their success and increase their level of confidence and fun.
