NTR's Skating Development for Youth program is designed for children 7 - 14 years of age. This program is for players with limited skating experience. This program is designed to introduce or reinforce skating techniques such as forward and backward strides, stopping and turning. Players will also be challenged to learn new techniques such as backwards and forwards crossovers, pivots, and the use of inside and outside edges.
This year, our summer programs will be split into two sessions:
- Session One: June 29, 2026, to August 2, 2026
- Session Two: August 4, 2026, to September 4, 2026
Families will have the option to register for either individual session OR for the entire summer.
Families who register for the full summer will receive one free week of programming. For example, if a program runs for 10 weeks, you will only pay for 9 weeks.
Requirements:
- All skaters are required to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet with a full facial mask.
- All skaters must be fully covered (no exposed skin) and wear gloves that cover their fingers.
- It is not mandatory for snow pants and a winter jacket but it is recommended so they stay warm.

Disclaimers:
- Each class will be one hour in length, ice resurfacing is included into the program time.
- NTR reserves the right to move participants to the appropiate class for their skill level. This will ensure the proper development of your child’s skills, it will also increase their success and confidence.
- If a participant needs to withdraw from a program for any reason, NTR will provide a full credit for the remaining classes that can be used for any NTR purchase. If the participant requires a refund we will refund the remaining classes minus a 10% administrative fee. Refunds must be processed within the first three weeks of any program. After the third week, any withdrawal can only be given as a credit on account.
